19 New Cards Coming Soon
Cards! We'll be adding some more to the game soon. Hopefully we can get till Tuesday without any dire patch needs, and we can put out a nice release that day, addressing any bugs I'm able to address between now and then, with improvements to the tutorial, and also these new cards.
Why are you adding cards now?
Our original set design was for a physical LCG. A lot has changed since then, but the basic numbers and types of action cards in the game were based on the idea of fitting the game into a reasonably small box and not overwhelming players with a bunch of cards at once.
Now we are releasing a collectible digital game, so the landscape is completely different. Design constraints and considerations that applied originally no longer apply.
While so much of BlindOak Prow's design is now based in its digital nature, the basic "shape" of the first set of cards isn't. You can collect all the common cards a little too quickly, and too many of the first cards you see are on the complicated side of things. To address this, we are going to be adding 19 cards: 1 "any" card, and 3 in each class.
These cards are all 0- or 1-cost, and will provide players with an easier learning curve as they get into the game. Some of these will feature in the tutorial, for instance, allowing a more streamlined situation there.
While the new cards are simpler, and on the lower end of the power curve, that doesn't mean they're weak! Many of them are perfectly good alternatives to other low-cost actions. We look forward to sharing them with you!
